It’s no secret that personal branding has become an extremely hot topic right now. It just keeps growing and growing every year. I just read an article in Inc.com stating that if you don’t have a personal brand in 2020 then nobody is going to want to work with you.

So why start a personal brand in 2019? (Aka your online reputation)

One word, leverage my friend. Not only can you start a personal brand from scratch, grow it, and monetize it in your respective niche but I can’t tell you how much credibility this gives to acquire customers for your products or services.

I’ve acquired tons of customers online just by building a large social media following, putting out tons of content, and made myself an authority in my industry. I’ve had tons of people at conferences that were shocked when they looked me up, it gave me so much credibility and people started to look at me differently. I even had a few local business owners show interest in my services (Social Media Marketing) just because I had such a strong personal brand.

So whether you want to start, grow, and monetize your brand or if you already have an online business and close more clients on your products or services, building a personal brand is essential in 2019.

Here are my top 7 tips to start a successful personal brand in 2019.

Tip #1: Pick a niche – Step #1, If you actually want to build a brand and long-term business you’re going to have to pick a nice (aka topic of interest) to build your business around. For example, making money online, fitness, health, beauty, finance, real estate, etc.

Tip #2: Brand yourself – Next, remember products come and go but people stay loyal to brands. Therefore, you must focus on branding yourself and separate yourself from the competition. Don’t just start a business with the mindset of just making money, build an actual brand and then you will make money.

Tip #3: Build an audience – Remember, before you even launch a product or service, make sure to build an audience. Because without a targeted audience, nobody is going to buy your products or services.

Tip #4: Content is king – Building trust, respect, and rapport are crucial when building an audience of loyal fans.

So be sure to put out tons of content on all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and more importantly stay consistent.

Tip #5: Capture leads – You can’t be reliant on any platform because Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. can make the slightest change in their algorithm and fuck your whole business up. So creating an email list is probably the best way to have a database of potential customers who are interested in what you have to say. Then, I would also have some backups like a Facebook Group and Facebook Messenger List. (Aka a Chat bot)   

Tip #6: Go high ticket at the beginning – I cannot stress this enough stress this enough, if you are a complete beginner do not start by selling $50 or $100 products because it’s going to take you forever to actually build a full-time business. Start with products or services that are $1,000 or more!

Tip #7: Have multiple products – Once you have your first high ticket products you should have multiple products to fill your customer’s needs. If you have a customer that buys one of your products he is most likely to buy most of your other ones.
